SATELLITE EARRINGS NO. 5
This is the fifth in my Satellite Earrings series. Made entirely by hand of sterling silver. These pieces are a complicated joy to make. Asymmetrical: each stylized satellite is a unique little piece of art that must look great individually while also being aesthetically cohesive as a pair.
Each earring is roughly the same size, measuring approximately 1 1/2" long (2 1/4" long with its earring wire) by 1 3/8" wide. No detail is ignored: even the ear wire connections have been given a small dish of their own for better reception ;)
This particular set has been included (and recently returned to me) as part of the Tellus Science Museum’s “Out Of This World! Jewelry In The Space Age” exhibition in Cartersville, Georgia (November 7, 2020 through October 24, 2021).
